Animals
One person's idea of something is often vastly different from another's. Only with a grain of truth from every thinker will your field of rice grow strong.
While it may tempting to consider seemingly simple beasts a threat not much caring about, underestimating the most numerous denizens of the world is an easy way to end up not reaching the monster you sought out to slay.
Where are you on the Food Chain?
Most predators only go for the food they know. Ideally something easy enough to catch but large enough to be worth the effort. While terrifying, you have no reason to fear the passing shadow of a Baxilom Eagle (unless you happen to be an elephant). But if you ever find yourself falling under the gaze of a hungry tiger then you have my condolences.
Unless a predator is desperate, driven mad by hunger or dark magic, you can make a quick pace through the wild lands without having much to worry about as long as you are slightly bigger than them. All bets are off though when it comes to an angry cow.
A man might slay a dragon, but a single touch from the wrong toad might well do to them the same.
Defence Against Animals
Fear of Loud Noises
Animals, as with many people, have long been greatly unnerved by sudden, violent sounds. It is often a good idea to have something ready to make a lot of noise to hand, should you need to clear away the crows... Or maybe even something larger.
Bite Collars
It is hard for something to chew at your neck if it covered in spikes.
Types of Animals
Animals are not machines, anybody that has spent time with them knows there is something going on behind those eyes. Except for the orange one sleeping on my desk. |
