Ayeliads are the immortal watchers of the world around them. Causing with a dark and ancient magic that renders them immune to the spells of the common world. They are resistant to physical harm and always able to return to some form of life should their bodies be rendered null. Worst of all, should one finally be destroyed, the bountiful hauls of dark energy held within them is released all around them. Poisoning the lands and twisting them and their inhabitants into soul-hoarding nightmares for many generations to come.
Feaster upon Dark Power
The favoured prey of Ayeliads are those poor souls who stumble into this world from others with no real idea of what awaits them. Their second is any being filled with dark magic that is not one of their own. They will go to great lengths to entice anything that fulfils both these spots on the menu.
Ayeliads will often "farm" potential feasts many years in advance. Leading them down paths of dark knowledge from the shadows, only to place them on the table when they cannot wait any more.
