Sins of spiders
T has to do it (the ritual to make the instrument) on a specific night (like a special moon or something) in a specific place- like an altar in the centre of a magical henge , and while he’s doing the spell the party get ambushed, and have to fight and protect T while he completes it

Rameilia is in chains, starts panicking. Templeton slaps ramelia. Templeton wolfs out. Gortag steps in-between the fight. Little man is called Persohn Waddler. Tries to sell us a finger. Finger isn’t in the box. Accuses us of stealing the finger. We find it in his donkey’s mouth. He disappears. Spider with 10 legs
Disembodied voice says he can help us remember if we get a staff that will revive him. Gives us a red chest with spider key:

At night go to Nieber’s basement for shelter

There’s a door with a brass 8 legged spider on it in Nieber’s basement
Edgar investigates it — the door is unnaturally cold; dead feeling
The lock is big, Rameila puts her hand in it to try open it
The wooden horse outside can turn real!!
Neiber gives us key for shackles — key = small disk with 4 prongs.

Reveals lights, writhing mass of changing colors, vestige of spider leg going back into a mouth, oily black.

Templeton casts knock on the spider door to open it
We go through the spider door.
The Orb Room
A circular room, single plinth, enormous spider carcass the size of at least 4 cows, skeletal remains of warriors around the room.
Absence of dust in middle of plinth

Well bucket hanging down
Several of the skellys have wooden stakes through the heart
10 skellys — 5 have stakes
Each skelly has severed neck vertebrae
The last skelly has its hands grasped around something
A large gold coin — with grinding demons face on 1 side; crown on the other side —> the skelly’s arm has a series of runes.
Templeton recognises the runes, But the carving is incomplete.

Skelly with no stake trying to pull stake out of other skelly — its moving when note seen. Red glowing fireflies like dots. Scratching coming from back through the door we came from. Rameila won’t give Edgar the coin, her eyes go dark. Hear voices above, stash goods in the well we’re in! Rope breaks, face peers over, we hide!
They leave well. They carve something into side of well. We search the bucket where they stashed their stuff. Its a book of short stories! The goose on the loose and other stories.
The book makes a glugging sound. Moving shape hunched over in the corner. Plinth has 8 legged spider
Figure at end of room joined by companion. Large nostrils, no eyes. Gortag walks up to them, they hiss and skitter away, disappear into solid stone.
Large clammy hand pushes out of the stone

Gortag turns his back to face them

Rameilia puts coin on plinth — the creatures bolt out into the wall
Smoke fills the room
When smoke clears all skellys are gone
A man in dark purple robes is standing there
The man says creature trapped him in the coin — that he has also lost his memory
Rameilia agrees to help him slay a dragon
Ramelia called him ‘Violet’
Creepy figure comes to Gortag kneels down and hands a chest to him — filled with gold and bones Gortag takes it
We all climb out
Look for somewhere to sleep
Find a place — stale smell, filled with scrolls
On sleep watch I see rat — I follow it — leads to door — I break down door — find gems get interrupted by banging on door — it’s Nieber in a sleepy daze — he doesn’t notice me, but what does notice me is big yellow eyes.

Look out window, hear cat-like yeowing, eyes look at me

The shroom spores kill gortag — im fine but my back has gone grey and crispy

We leave the hole — rameila is reading, eyes blood red, winged creature, skeletons read alongside her.

We all wake up from a deep sleep in the same busted up library
The book’s chains have fallen off
We see a figure standing in the middle of the room, holding an orb
● Large purple cloak, stained at the edges
● Gold orb — the one rameila picked of the alter
Rameila asks him for the orb back
He says he’s her friend from the orb
● ‘See the 7 disks’
● By finding this book for us you have helped unlock a power from this orb and thus I am closer to my freedom
We were inside a book when the one shot with all the doors happened

I try to give it a ration — it opens its mouth to reveal golden inside — and a smaller gold crocodile it inside it

Templeton walks down other path — sees gold pile and gold baby gator
Treasure chest — been rumaged thru
● Find a sceptre/mace made of dark grey metal, and gold coin
● Sceptre feels cold
● Hear whispers when I pick it up — unintelligible
● Coin — skull on 1 side, door on the other side — door opens up, and key takes its place — skull has been replaced by door
continue following the scorch marks — enter large cavern
● Empty pedestal
● Templeton jumps up on it — feels eyes burning on back of neck
Marks lead to a pool of water — feels unpleasant
See a squid monster in the pool, and an eel monster
Gortag wanders off into a chamber, goes into alcove and gets augustus glooped away
The others investigate the room — find a secret button, chest revealed, its a makeup box!? (Brushes, powders, mirrors)
● Small note underneath it — “may the ancients guide your journey, do not fall the same way as I did”
Edgar steps into the alcove — flung up thru stone tubing
Templeton and rameila follow
End up in a small room — collection of tables and chairs
Small door opens, tentacles ooze out — single eye pokes out — holds out a flatk and pours into a cup— places it on the table
Circular patterns of doors — small tea room
Gortag takes the wine
Star fish guy talks to us ‘what brings you to this spot’ — he’s on the run for doing terrible things
He can make people do things with dreams
He tells us that the coin is the ‘coin of nightmares and dreams’ — when you flip it, if it lands on door you get whatever you wanted, if it lands on skull you die
Ask about sceptre — he says its to hit people with — I hit Edgar — he falls asleep
Star fish guy comes from the astral plane — needs to consume dreams to live
Just as we’re about to bonk him with the sceptre he goes away to sleep
Peer back down the hole we came from — there’s a vulture monster there
Rameila looks into 1 of the doors — stars, small sailing ship, small islands, sailing in space
We look down the hole again — monster is gone — we leave room — Edgar wakes up as soon as we get out of the room
Cross old bridge
See old statue on pedestal — looks like person has been turned to stone
Then I see the vulture creature — try give it a ration
When it takes the ration — it turns into a mouse and climbs onto my shoulder
Gortag is a dad now (pet mouse)
Gortag grows a second back — its blue.
Entry 6
See sceptre and gold coins in the water — gortag gets sceptre with meathook
● Gold, lightweight, crystal white gem in middle
● As I wave it around them gem glows, as I wave it, it sparks, lightning
● Try to hit edgar
● I hit myself on the head with it instead— 16 points of damage + unconscious
Templeton finds a rod with small note attatched: “incase of emergency, your friend stone”
● Made from Silver-y metal
● If magic is heat then this is cold
Templeton gets the gold coins from the water — 40 gp
Gortag gives valet the death coin
● Bastard doesn’t give us anything in return!
Rameila sees small blue man — Stonewall?? Stonefloor— he gives tours of the caves — we answer riddles to get him to take us to his treasure

Our green friend (Gubbins aka Cliff) doesn’t want to come— his boss said something about seals and if we find them, let him know

Templeton sees large golden object with 2 yellow eyes
Shadowy hand reaches out to Edgar — as it passes over the pot, it gets sucked into it
Pot starts to rumble — pot has eyes —> its Cris’s / Scotts character!! == “Commander Volavor”
● Multitude of ghosts controlling the the pot
Creature gives templeton a gold idol with demon face — slight hint of strange magic
Creature skitters away
Breathing hallway — rameila rolls violet into it — a shadowy hand steals him!
Templeton’s creature brings him a treasure chest — starts stroking it and whining
T feels a cold wind and sees large statue of bull-headed figure — sees gold coins leaking out from the floor
Weird stuff is going on with our shadows — edgers bird doesn’t have a crow
We start down the breathing corriddor — there’s undead everywhere
We run back to find T
Templeton smashes the rock (seal??)
Pallid creature with tattered robes — vaguely humanoid
The creature lurches towards us — combat — for some reason they only want to kill rameila
We end combat — notice a little guy holding a gold filled chest —> holds it up to rameila
Another one holdinga. Small golden sheep
She opens the chest — gold coins — a few of them crawl away — necklace, book, small cylinder
● She puts the necklace on. —> she darkens, her face elongates —> her head has been replaced by a horse head
● The book has purple stains on it
Templeton puts the silver cylinder on the necklace — rumbling
So back to find violet to help Rameila get off necklace

The little guys follow us — then go away — then one comes back holding a large golden cloak up to Edgar

He can’t help rameila until we free him

Alcove — wand — glows blue — as I wave it a spark of light smashes into the stone — a small amount of waxy blue liquid pours of of the altar

Creature approaches, dragging its claws
Our shadows press us into a tight space
The creature stretches itself out — the shadows dont attack
● Tattered rags — large vulture-headed humanoid blocks with pallid skin the hallway
● “Mortals down here, you have left yourselves trapped, break us from our chains and we will release you from this hold
“Release us from our chains”
Creature says he’ll remove Rameila’s necklace if we break them out (break the seals)
Shadows say they were Unjustly imprisoned by jealous successors
We break a seal, go into the room —> creature breaks the necklace for rameila!

We tell him that Gavin is in the orb — says ‘seems are caretaker has gone free — the spider is free’
The caretaker was one of the weavers — had gold attached to it
I think R and T killed the puppeteer / caretaker
We trust weird guys too much
To help gas we’ve gotta go to the other side of the temple
Creepy guy (Yourg Concern) who wants us to break the seals threatens us
Yourg accidentally flirts with Gortag
R pretends to break the seal — Yourg gets angry and storms off
We run back to feather snake — she opens the stone door for us — it’s the tundra
Big owl tries to speak to templeton — “take me with you” — we let him join
Rameila beckons giant snake to join us

Huge mountain in teh distance — smell of ash — cold enough for snow, feels like we’re walking on fields of ash — in distance pulsing with crimson like tendrils — frosty ash — tendrils rippling thru the snow

we open the seal at the other end — little spear guy attacks us

● == Joe (short for Josen) —> he’s with he caretakers
● He doesn’t want people to know what we found down there

His associate got stabbed —> they had an agreement: they kept the town in order

Tall figure in tan cloak, leaning against the wall, claws, flipping a coin, 2 large ears, hairless-looking feline shape, covered in chain/rose tattoos —> Saloon (Saloona is his sister)
● Wants to make a counter offer
● He’s against the caretakers —> don’t hide behind the sins of the past but instead fight them
● He looks like a sphinx cat
● He wants the creatures to be destroyed
● His ‘counter-offer’ — won’t give us anything but the tools to kill the demons underground
● Tools = items that would make the ancients cry??
He pulls out a crystal —> you throw it at the stone guy and say the trigger word and it kills him

We see feathered humanoid gang walk past — they’re going to fish

It is gubbins the blue kobold
He’s been keeping an eye on us
Gubbins is undercover, he’s not actually blue —> HES GREEN
He wants us to help him with a heist
He wants us to do a distraction so he can steal a pearl/orb
Gubbins boss works with the Mayer — wants to open there corridors to power
● His boss = Gevvinson
● Gev is a popular name due to the old fiasco
● The orb opens a door —> Gev already has one, but he needs 4
Gubbins agrees to help us fid the sceptre in return for us helping distract Daff so he can steal the orb
Sledding down the tower stairs — did not go well smacked into the little blue goblins with pig head— picked up a small golden trinket

● T id’s it —> the skull of a tharrier attached to a summoning staff —> summons the natural predator of basilisks (tharrier) —> slam it on the ground and it summons the beast

He says basilisk venom is good for restoring lost memories if the memories are still inside you

Memories dont just vanish when something dies — we could get them from the spider’s body?
Will trade the skull staff for something that will help us get memories back

At the opening of the cave
Green ocean before us; smoke rises in distance; see a camp; draconic head at top of large tower; almost sheer drop down; vines; gold dust on some vines
We find our dog and badger and gubbins
R’s dog is hot; scars on belly
Gubbins says the Grove is need the marauder camp

We see a medium sized fuzzy shape == bear
See old hollowed out tree stump with gold glittering near by

Investigate the tree stump:
● Blackened, old, dead, tree
● Large golden sword with silver blade impailed into he tree, a body of black bones, the water around the tree is sickly / tainted
● G pulls the tree out
● It bites me —> bites into my hands
● The tree drains my blood and appears healthier
G and R try to pull the sword —> makes us look older, and seems to make the skeleton more healthy —> R’s cloak protects her from it?
● Cut the Skelly’s head off — ageing reverses, sword gets sucked back into the tree
R takes the head —> gives it to dog —> dog says it’s her responsibility now - she keeps it
We approach the cave —> small shrine carved in the rock (goblet relief simple alter with bag of old berries; small food bowl, sign that says badger
● Violent sniffs at bowl, eyes glow, magic, starts speaking
There’s a hole in the cave — gubbins offers to go in and check it out
● Finds a small lock box
● Chewed stick —> feel slight spark of magic energy

● Sword made of blackish material, it glistens, handle is silver, triangle runes

All the blood that meets the air turns to stone

The room: small stone room, large carpet, stone furniture, large cracked sphere (dark glass, mainly hollow) next to stone tablet
