Hot Gold
The results of attempts to magical conquer gold. Hot Gold or Toxic Gold is highly radioactive and innately toxic in a way that destabilises creatures of both magical and ordinary origin. More frustratingly it is a naturally powdery material and will burn before it reaches its melting point. It is often considered to be the punishment for avarice from the gods, with various myths and legends springing up around it.
While it is not a naturally occurring material, huge amounts of it can be found within abandoned underground ruins that border with The Ancients.
