The Draco Serrata Mountains

Ingle isles, muddy marshes, twisted canyons, and branching caverns make up the visage of the Draco Serrata Mountains. A volcanic hollow that makes the up southern most reaches of the Nentir Vale - and threatens to swallow it, should the oceans recede too far. Few monsters are adapted to this harsh environment, and fewer tribals take up resident there. But it is not all inhospitable; seperate from the searing hot area with flowing lava, are nice cool pleastus with beautifully pure water cascades.

Wind whistles between the sharp edges of the Draco Serrata, sending low-hanging clouds swirling between them in sheets of obscuring mist. Tough-skinned fruit and ferns that saturate the lowlands grow freely in this environment deaden the sound of echoes and screams, filling the range with a sense of eerie silence and isolation. Abyss like canyons are lit by the deep orange glow of slowly bubbling liquid lava, while others are filled with a jungle of molten glass - the entirety of the Draco Serrata Mountains can be discribed as a oxen made of obsidian, slowly freeing itself from a caccoon of limestone.

Geography

The White Twins
So called for their snow covered peaks, these are two very high dormant volcanoes that are known to have awakened in some Cycles. These constant presences thrum with a soundless pulse that nonetheless demands attention. Misshapen shadows crawl among its fissures.
The Antelope’s Canyon
A racing river always flows through this majestic Canyon which hosts more wildlife and spirits than it might appear at a first look at its barren rocks. It is believes that The Antelope’s Canyon may be one of the ancient walkers - a garden guardian so massive it could sink the Dragondown Coast if it even rose again.
Gorge of Noon
A seemingly bottomless gorge. It was once inhabited by a dwarven civilization that helped the dragonborn to build great architectural marvels, such as the Bridge of Iban Ja. However, this civilization was destroyed by the tieflings during the Arkhosian-Turathi wars.
The Bridge of Iban Ja
An ancient arkhosian bridge that looms over the Gorge of Noon. It connects the southern and northern regions of the Coast. The bridge was destroyed during the Arkhosian-Turathi wars, but its remains are still floating, held in the air by the powerful magics of Iban Ja, the greatest dragonborn wizard (hence the name).
Stormcrow Tor
A crumbling tower that used to be the headquarters of the Stormcrow bandits. This scavanger cartel is notorious for their weapons said to contain the very lightning that streaks across the sky. Treasure of the Old World is rumored to still exist in the dungeons below but is guarded by the tower's new residents - but for the right price, this cartel might trade some.
The Path to Ogygia
Also known as the Tower of Sunset, this great Eldritch Machine was said to once be a stablizing pillar of the Shifting Land. Its top forever encased in a raging storm, the Tower of Sunset is a majestic sight, even without considering what lies within its depths. Beneath The Path to Ogygia lies the cursed lands of the Mage's Realm - a labyrinthine fells surrounding the machine, seemingly made up of materialized veins and bones of magic. The realm is feared for the mysterious order of masked wizards and reliquarian known as the Mages of Mahl-Lhs that controls these uplands now.
While most of the Mages of Mahl-Lhs wear masks of bronze-casted stone, decorated in ornate jewelry. The most powerful of these Mages of Mahl-Lhs wear a twin-set mask of stone. These Twin-Set mages appear in public to take care of business and to dispensate justice when needed.
Wellspring
There are almost no perminent settlements in the Draco Serrata - yet two miles from The Antelope’s Canyon, Wellspring nestles in a valley, astride the Chill and between two arms of the windswept savanna. It is called Wellspring due to their beautiful “moth-houses”, conical buildings where they breed those insects and that glow with spiritual energy at night. Their stone cities has impressive walls and they believe in isolation and meditation as a way of enlightenment.
Seven Pillar Hall
Straddling the edge between the Plains of Harrack Unearth and the Nentir Vale, is a great fossilized machine. Once known as The Path to Ogygial, this eldritch machine has long since fallen dormant. The heart of it’s upper level has dozens of lanterns hang from the walls and the thick pillars of this great chamber. But not many travel this haven of Weirdmen, exiles, and monsters.
