  Peregrin Stormcloud, known fondly as "Pere" to her friends, is the enigmatic and dynamic owner and proprietor of The Blind Mare Inn. With her red hair and bright yellow eyes, Peregrin is not only known for her captivating appearance but also for her sharp intellect, political savvy, and boundless generosity. She is married to Hamnet, a man who shares her unwavering dedication to their community and knows all the secrets of her past.   Her journey to her current life in Uclandia is as complex as it is inspiring. Born in the coastal region of Eras, in Uisgern Province, she was not always known as Peregrin. In her younger years, she faced a life-altering challenge when she became unexpectedly pregnant. With little support from her family, who disowned her, she made the heart-wrenching decision to give her son up for adoption to a wealthy woman who promised to provide a good life for him. This event marked the beginning of her transformation.   Overcome with grief and determined to forge a new path, she left her old life behind and traveled north, adopting the name Peregrin. It was in this new land that she met and fell in love with Hamnet Stormcloud, and the two eventually married. Together, they built The Blind Mare into a beloved community hub, renowned for its warm hospitality and the unique Robean drink, a concoction Peregrin herself invented.   Peregrin's intelligence and political acumen quickly became evident, as did her strategic mind and beauty. She was a close friend to Eri Meridian and played a crucial role in assisting Eri with transcribing notes and journals. Her friendships extended to many, including Eri’s niece Naledi, with whom she shares a deep bond.   Beyond her public persona, Peregrin possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of herbs and their properties. She can identify different plants, harvest them safely and sustainably, and prepare them for use in her potions. Peregrin is skilled at creating her own recipes, blending herbs in unique and innovative ways to produce powerful effects. Her potions are highly sought after throughout the realm, known for curing ailments ranging from the common cold to more serious illnesses. Her expertise extends beyond healing; she can enhance physical abilities, induce hallucinations, alter moods, and even cause temporary paralysis or memory loss.   Peregrin's mastery of potion-making involves brewing difficult and rare ingredients. She has traveled to remote locations to collect components, traded for hard-to-find substances, and is always on the lookout for new and exotic materials. Despite her skill, she is meticulous in her work, knowing that even the slightest mistake can have disastrous consequences. She ensures her potions are always safe and effective, and she keeps her activities secret, aware of the fear and suspicion her abilities might provoke.   Peregrin often reminisces about the warmth and sea breezes of the East, keeping connected to her roots through a trader acquaintance who brings her cherished Vanasoom Leaf and smoked fish. Her life took another dramatic turn when Viscountess Adela assumed control of Banern Province. As the new ruler imposed higher taxes and stripped away the people's rights, Peregrin became a vocal critic. This drew the ire of the Viscountess, who sent the leader of her Onyx Guard to intimidate and silence her. Faced with this threat, Hamnet implored Peregrin to take her resistance underground.   In a poignant and prophetic moment, Naledi dreamt of Peregrin speaking to a group of citizens under a starlit sky. This vision inspired Peregrin to form the secret Order of The Stars, a clandestine group dedicated to resisting the tyranny of the Viscountess and restoring the rights of the people.   Peregrin Stormcloud is a beacon of resilience, courage, and hope in Uclandia. Her life story, marked by loss, reinvention, and unwavering commitment to justice, continues to inspire those who cross her path.
