Wisp
Vyndrosil, more commonly referred to as Wisps when not speaking in a scientific sense, were the dominant race on planet Krali for many millions of years. Their physical design and connection to nature helped them through hardships that would end many races journey to the stars. One might make the statement that Vyndrosil ruled their planet, both in terms of technology and population. With the progression they'd made in space travel, they were bound to make enemies in the cosmos.
Basic Information
Anatomy
They have digitigrade legs which are feline-like but without fur. Their feet are also cat-like, as they resemble a cat's back feet, but due to their size, their feet look elongated and more pronounced. They have no relation to cats or any feline race, their legs have evolved to be able to withstand falling from great distances, as their planet was once covered in cliffs and ledges. These same legs also make them excellent runners and add a few feet to their jumping height and distance.
Another prominent feature of Vyndrosil, more commonly known as Wisps, is their horns and prehensile tails, which were originally developed when they were tribal nomads. Their horns were larger and used to assist with creating tools and sometimes even used when hunting. Males traditionally used their horns in a sort of battle, typically this ritualistic battle was used to defend ones honor. In modern times, their horns are mainly an accessory and are mostly useless. Some Vyndrosil even choose to remove them.
Their tails are thinner than they once were, but can still hold their full weight. Typically, their tails are long and fully black expect for a single tuft, or wisp, of hair on the end. This tuft of hair is believed to have been used as a distraction when a larger predator would spot them. The strength in their tails was once used to keep them off the ground while using a bow and arrow or throwing spears at their prey. These days, the strength in their tails is used as a third arm, to help them with everyday tasks.
At night, you'd notice that they have bio-luminescent markings on the backs of their necks, across their shoulders, and down their arms. These markings glow the same color as the second tone of their hair. They evolved this way so that they could recognize their own kind at night, as their night vision isn't the best. When they sleep, the glow lessens, so they can't be seen at night. For this reason, they tend to fall asleep before the sun sets, even in modern times.
Their hair, much like humans and other humanoid races, grows on their head and can be many different colors. Unlike most humanoid races, their hair turns a different color after it has grown. Due to this phenomenon, their hair appears to be two different colors. One of these colors, near the root, is a natural color, such as black or brown, while the other is a bright color which can usually be seen in their eyes or markings. This secondary color is determined by genetics and in most cases becomes the color they're highly attracted to, or their "favorite color" because its the first color that consistently appears throughout their childhood if their hair is kept long enough for them to see it.
Like most humanoid races, they have the other basic characteristics, such as two legs and two arms. Much like elves, their ears are elongated and almost animalistic in some cases. Their ears tend to go out and back, like an elves ear, but flat across the top. This allows them to hear a little bit better than most races, and is an aesthetic feature that some Wisps use to their advantage.
