Clothing of the Hounds of Malar
The Hounds of Malar are a group of worshipers of the God Malar. They act as an independent group of hunters, usually heavily involved in bounty hunting. Known for it's high success rate in tracking down targets, however, they tend to not take targets in alive. The common public fears them and the proper authorities tend to use them as a last resort. Given the hunt takes them all over Tyrantum they distinguish themselves by wearing a leather chest piece with the insignia of a wolf's head. This leather chest piece allows The Hounds of Malar act with a sort of immunity to most laws and help identify other members. For members of The Hounds of Malar, it is a great honor to wear the leather chest piece. For everyone else, this usually represents a group above the law and people you do not want to be a target of.
The wolf insignia represents the love for the hunt and expressing a great talent for it. In order for a member of The Hounds of Malar to earn the chest piece, they must complete a challenging hunt. Some members find a giant beast roaming the wastelands or forests of Tyrantum and others find a high profile bandit or criminal. Few actually survive the test which lends to the honor of wearing it. Once the hunt is completed and proof shown to a ranking member, the member is given the chest piece. Owners of the chest piece always wear the chest piece while on a hunt, otherwise they are subjected to the law. Some say there is an unspoken deal with authorities and others say that the authorities are too afraid to defy them. One thing that is known, is no matter what city, laws, or ruler everyone fears and respects the chest piece.
