Sapphire Hammer
Mechanics & Inner Workings
This machine works with the power of a sapphire Forza Crystal. The crystal is placed inside a motor and attached to a large brass gear inside that portrudes out. A small Spark Rod is attached next to the crystal. Once the power switch is flicked, the Spark Rod flicks to form a full connection, giving of a small yet steady stream of electricity to the sapphire Forza Crystal. The sapphire promptly begins to spin rapidly as it intakes the electricity. As the large gear spins, it is connected to another gear outside of the motor. This outer gear has several reinforced belts attached to form a pulley system. As the gears spin, the pulley system allows the 20lb steel hammer to drop up and down in quick succession. A pedal in front of the machine is stepped on to regulate power output. The more the pedal is pressed, the faster the gear spins.
Manufacturing process
Sapphire Hammers need to be built on the spot due to their sheer size and mass. Artificers may help building the machine with magic to reduce the amount of manual labor needed.
Significance
Along with the Ruby Forge came the Sapphire Hammer. This large mechanical hammer allowed the hammering of metals to become far easier. Each strike of the Sapphire Hammer could produce the same striking force as 5 skilled dwarven smiths.
