Mt. Slated

Mt. Slated is almost entirely inhabited by dwarves. It's mainly a mix of hill dwarves and mountain dwarves. There is only 1 non-dwarf living in the settlement: A single old gnome man.

The settlement of Mt. Slated is ran like a monarchy. The current leader, King Rolakin Slatestone, is the 3rd king of the settlement.

Due to the fact that the settlement is built within a giant mountain, its defences are pretty solid. There's only one entrance and that entrance is guarded all day, every day. Given the fact that dwarves are very sturdy and headstrong, a couple dwarf guards will generally be difficult enough to deal with. This isn't even mentioning the hidden archers and crossbowmen hidden in the face of the mountain.

The dwarves of Mt. Slated take pride in their forged and smithed creations. Their mountain home grants a steady supply of good quality iron ore, which is promptly turned into tools and weapons that are exported to the nearby Verska City. The Forge of Might that resides inside the mountain has several very hard-working dwarves that can create items 5x quicker than most non-dwarf smiths can.

The dwarves of Mt. Slated first arrived at this mountain in the year 15. Seeing how this mountain was relatively far away from one of the tyrannical kingdoms, the dwarves promptly began to mine and dig into the mountain, establishing base. The group consisted of 300 dwarves, one of them was Eberk Slatestone. He was the leader of the group after an initial town of dwarves was violently pushed off from their homes. The digging, mining, and resource collecting took around 6 years. By the year 21, the dwarves had fully established themselves into the mountain and closed off the surrounding lands to protect the citizens inside from invaders, be it orcs or tyrant soldiers. Eberk Slatestone was crowned king of the mountain and Mt. Slated became the mountain's name.   In the year 74, a year after the first call of the First Crusade, Erholt the Righteous led some of his crusaders to Mt. Slated to request help. Due to his charisma and righteous goals, King Eberk Slatestone agreed and rallied his dwarves to take up arms. The dwarves were primarily tasked as first-line heavy infantry, thanks to their sturdiness. They fought bravely alongside Erholt's soldiers. By the 7th year of the crusade, the final tyrant was defeated.
