Gruumsh's Hook
Culture
War is the heart of orc culture. The orcs of Gruumsh's Hook spend all of their time preparing or raiding. Weakness disgusts the god Gruumsh and all orcs who do not follow Gruumsh's warring ideals are to be eradicated. All orcs are trained to become fighters the moment they learn to walk.
To the monsters of Gruumsh's Hook, all other races are inferior, weak, and must be killed. Elves are always to be tortured and killed without second thought. Dwarves make great strongholds and humans can be fun to kill when they fight back.
History
Around the year 450, several colonies of orcs who ventured to the very northeast of Darnolia found a large chunk of land that was hardly colonized, with only a few small sovereign villages. These villages, never needing to form armies, were quickly slaughtered and/or enslaved by the orcs who then claimed this large piece of land as Gruumsh's Hook.
Since then, the orcs there have been training, repopulating, and most of all, raiding other countries and settlements. Over time, some colonies of hobgoblins stumbled their way into the country. There, they both compete and cooperate with the orcs there. When a hobgoblin clan and an orc clan form an alliance, fear and domination is spread across the local region.
Currently, the monsters of Gruumsh's Hook have been heavily fighting in Nordinia, going against Ferosia and wanting domination over Nordinia. As of the past decade or so, the massive armies of Gruumsh's Hook are led by Grand Leader Krugov Khan. The armies are now stronger than ever.
Demography and Population
The entire country is populated by millions of orcs and, to a lesser extent, hobgoblins and goblins. They are scattered across the many tribes and villages in the country, but all fight for eachother and for the glory of Gruumsh. Hobgoblins though tend to fight for their own god Maglubiyet. Hobgoblins are never treated as second-class citizens, given how the Grand Leader of the entire country is a hobgoblin.
Military
Every single orc that exists in this country is a fighter. Weak orcs are usually euthanized by tribe leaders. While orcs normally tend to fight with crudely made weapons, when an alliance with a hobgoblin clan occurs, suddenly an army of orcs can be twice as deadly as they were before. Hobgoblins know how to forge better weapons and armor and cooperative orcs will gladly use them.
On the topic of hobgoblins, it seems that the hobgoblins of Gruumsh's Hook have adopted a form of combat that seems to be different from most hobgoblin and orc combat. These hobgoblins prefer a much more violent form of shock warfare. They've always been known to work with worgs and wolves, but the hobgoblins of Gruumsh's Hook have seemed to picked up a form of mounted combat by riding not horses, but dire and winter wolves. Worgs don't really exist in the northern landscapes, but dire wolves and winter wolves are plentiful. These strong mounts make hobgoblin shock cavalry one of the most feared things to ever witness. Generals tend to ride winter wolves into combat.
Foreign Relations
Gruumsh's Hook has no international allies. All countries of Darnolia have heavily sanctioned the country and no foreign aid has ever really been given to the country. The orcs of Gruumsh's Hook, not surprisingly, raid countries in return. While Ferosia and Nordinia are already battle-filled landscapes, these orcs don't care how much they need to do. They fight for Gruumsh's honor and will travel a thousand miles in order to pillage.
The countries that the armies tend to raid the most are Ostkusteland due to their low defenses, Ferosia due to their proximity, and Nordinia due to the fact that the area is already a war zone. Ostkusteland in particular is frequently picked on due to their low-grade technology and bare-minimum defenses. Many times, Valesco has to send in its naval and marine forces to counter the invaders.
