Firearms
Firearms have been around on Tynaria since the late 4th century. However, firearms were basically produced in one country: Sorcodia. Sorcodia's proximity to sulfur deposits combined with their general frontier-like lifestyles paved way to eventual gunsmithing achievements. For the next several decades, almost all of the firearms seen in the world could be traced back to Sorcodia.
During the turn of the 6th century, gunsmithing managed to spread out from Sorcodia to other countries out in th world. The art of gunsmithing soon began to flourish even more during the Time of Technology, where faster and more efficient machinery allowed for more firearms to be produced with better efficiency. However, it still must be said that firearms still remain relatively uncommon. There is a much higher chance to encounter someone with a crossbow or sword than a person with a firearm.
The following are all the firearms that can be purchased from certain vendors and producers as of the year 572:
- Palm Pistols: Palm pistols are small firearms that excel in their concealability and affordability. If someone was to go to a place where weapons where prohibited, they could stash a palm pistol in a secret place, allowing it to be undetected from guards. They are however the weakest firearm available in both firing rate and damage output.
- Volcanic Pistols: Also known as a lever-action pistol, volcanic pistols contain a tube magazine underneath the barrel. The trigger is surrounded with a ring-designed lever. When a bullet is shot, the user will rack the lever forward and back to both eject a shell and load in a new one. A general-purpose pistol that deals solid damage along with a decently fast firing speed.
- Single Rifles: An evolution of muskets, single-shot rifles are hard-hitting firearms that shoot around the same rate as a crossbow. Their long ranges and reliability are what makes them issueable to the military. As always though, they can be more expensive than the average longbow, especially if ammunition is included. Singe rifles have several designs ranging from a trapdoor-style loading breech to a simple breech-loading gate.
- Blunderbuss: The blunderbuss is a single-shot firearm that fires a blast of lead shots. It has very short range, quickly losing accuracy past 15ft, but it deals incredibly high amounts of damage. One must make sure that the one shot counts because it can only be fired once before reloading.
- Revolvers: A more advanced version of the volcanic pistol, revolvers have a 6-round cylinder attached in between the main barrel and the hammer. It is also generally considered to be an all-purpose sidearm. It deals solid damage, has a nice short range of 90ft, and carries 2 more shots when compared to the volcanic pistol. They are, however, more expensive.
- Lever Action Rifles: These rifles can hold multiple rounds at once and can be fired at rates faster than any longbow. By extending both the barrel and the tubular magazine, it essentially is the volcanic pistol in rifle form. They don't do as much damage per shot when compared to single rifles, but their high capacities and fast firing rate make up for it. Their biggest drawback is that they're prone to misfires due to the nature of tubular magazines and the fact that they are the most expensive standard firearms on the market.
