Origins
When people think of "having fiend blood," many may think of a tiefling, or perhaps a cambion. However, very rarely, there are some people who are blessed or cursed with special characteristics that may not physically show themselves until much later in life. Perhaps said person was exposed to a hidden hellgate when they were still an infant. Perhaps their grandparent was secretly a full-blooded devil, but they were lucky enough to not just be turned into a cambion. The origins of these individuals are as varied as they are rare, but all of them involve some involvement with energies and/or contact with either the Hells or the Abyss.
Dark Awakenings
"
It was like his body was made of coal, his hair set ablaze, his horns crackling with energy. Each swing of his sword threw sparks and fire with every slash. He was near-death seconds ago, but soon brought death to the chimera that tried to kill him. I knew one thing was certain: He was no mere tiefling."
When an incredibly strong, powerful surge of emotion arises within the (un)lucky individual, an incredible awakening of power appears. Skin gains the color and texture of hot coals, horns or spikes are grown out if they weren't there before, and the individual gains a fighting ferocity like no other fighter or barbarian. This activation is what scholars call, depending on whether the origin is hellish or abyssal, a Devil Trigger/Demon Trigger. When DT is activated for the very first time, the individual becomes a true Fiend Warrior. Usually though, after the first time DT is activated, it takes a considerable amount of training to properly activate it again. Those who do learn to control these powers, however, become adept warriors that can tip the scales in any fight.
Abilities
Fiend warriors tend to be adept fighters by nature. Whether it's sword, bow, hammer, or even gun, fiend warriors tend to just "know" how to fight with most weapons. Unpowered, fiend warriors are practically indistinguishable from fighters. However, the two types of fiend warriors will have special abilties unique to their origins.
Hellforged warriors with blood infused with energy from the 9 Hells of Baator gain an extra sense of finesse and precision in their attacks. With a quick analysis of their enemy, they can find any particular gaps or weakpoints on them. They also have the unique ability of enhancing the weapons they utilize, infusing them with special infernal magic. These weapons become extra effective, especially in regards to breaking through the tough skins of demons and devils. Devil Trigger grants a hellforged warrior enhanced endurance and precision in their attacks.
Abyssborn warriors with demon-infused blood fight in a much more aggressive, unchanined way. Abyssborn warriors fight with the ferocity of a barbarian that is just a hair-trigger away from raging. When an abyssborn slays a creature, they feel a rush of energy and a push to continue fighting. When Demon Trigger is activated, it turns them into a force of destructive power. Their attacks become brutal and their skin can regenerate from incoming injuries.
Quarter Bloods or Bringer Bloods may have blood from either demons or devils. However, they interestingly have the most outwardly-visible sign of fiendish influence, that being arm known as a Fiend/Devil/Demon-Bringer arm. This arm usually starts from the elbow down and looks drastically different to the rest of the body, often being rough with glowing veins. The color is also completely different. It's hypothesized that this arm ends up concentrating most of the fiendish power, so when the powers awaken, said arm becomes far stronger than any normal humanoid's. It's been observed that these Fiend Bringer arms can easily pick up a 900lb horse with little effort from the individual. Due to this increased strength in one's limb, Quarter Bloods capitalize on this by engaging in direct hand-to-hand combat, often involving brutal strikes, grappling slams, and even pin-downs.
