Mage Families of Darnolia

While plenty of mages don't necessarily come from a lineage/family of mages that span generations, mage families are still known throughout the continent. These families can be as old as civilization itself, or as young as just a few generations. Families can teach their style of magic to several members of new generations, however many put the cap at just 3, with some utilizing the archaic tradition of only teaching their style to one child within a family. Some families are known to take in apprenticeships from individuals that may not hail from any lineage, but rarely would established families take in children of another mage lineage, unless a special agreement was made between family elders. These are the currently known mage families on Darnolia:

• Detonus: A tiefling mage family hailing from Bukatelia. The most interesting aspect of this family is that many of the members look like the opposite of what one would expect a mage to look like. Many of the mages have noticeably more muscle mass and/or bulk when compared to the average wizard. Battle mages are common within the family, with some martial training being a requirement to be accepted by the family as a mage of the Detonus family.
• Eichenhardt: The Eichenhardt family is a militaristic mage family that hails from northern Lekrone. They've a history of participating in the international Holy Grail Wars. However, it was due to these participations that eventually led to their fall. Lekrone was defeated twice in a century during the wars, and the Eichenhardts, who had military influence in the country during the war, took both blame and casualty. Many of their members and apprentices were promptly ostracized from the nation. Some completely disappeared from all records. It's said that there are only 6 members within the family alive as of the 7th century.
• Marcellina: The Marcellina family also hails from Bukatelia, and is considered to be one of the oldest families from the region, forming before the Kingdom of Bukatelia was even founded. The Marcellinas specialized in the school of enchantment magic. Mages of the family are known to be strikingly gorgeous, with the the highest-performing child within a generation being made the next wielder of the Mystic Eyes of Enchantment. 
• Taisho: The Taisho family hails from an elven enclave within Bukatelia, their culture being distinctly their own. As is with many elven traditions from more isolated areas, only one child of every family is given the full training that a Taisho mage goes through. The teaching process can take over a decade, as the family requires a long-term investment to teach everything there is to know about the family's magic.
