Battle of the Burning Hills

The Conflict

Prelude

During the final years of the The Federation the leaders of the Federation were desperately trying to find new ways to have harbors that were on the coast of the Shimmering Ocean. With the recent independence of the Coastal States Alliance, The Federations only other access to the Shimmering Ocean was through the Straits of Escax, and paying the heavy tolls that were exacted by the Escax Royal Navy. Instead of attacking the newly formed Coastal States, and risking a larger war with the Vaviel Empire and the Chay Dynasty, The Federation set it's sights on the small, independant nation of Kronnai.   The plan was to attack swiftly and capture a notable city before Kronnai could search for help from the other Independant nations. The Federation could not risk moving large formations of troops until the city had been captured, hoping that the swift victory would make other nations hesitate and force Kronnai into negotiations. The federation chose to use their Garrison in the City of Sempronium, along with a regiment of Tedros Soldiers that were training there, as their attack force. With less than 150 kilometers between the two cities, The Federation was sure that their army could reach the city of Stafval before Kronnai could mount any sort of defense, or send out requests for aid.
