SC 2023 Pledge!
I, AutumnKitsune, vow to write at least 32 prompts within the month of July as well as support the World Anvil community as much as possible, as well as hopefully not wrecking my sleep schedule in the process :DIt's SummerCamp time once again, and I'm ready to devour these new prompts with vigor! This time I'm working on a slightly different world, which is practically two worlds in one. Managing the two sides may get tricky, but I'm ready to take on that challenge and try my best. Last year I managed to reach diamond, so now that I know where I'm going with this world (at least, more than last time) I'm going to try for Diamond again! I'll try to write all 40, but at least 32 is my main goal. Here's my SummerCamp Pledge!
Theme Preparation
Power
Power dynamics are something I haven't done much with, but that means I have plenty of room to explore the subject. Which settlements hold the most power? Who is considered powerful and why? How does that all work with magic and technology?I might end up using a city that is pretty important to the plot of one of my in-progress novels, Rubius (Name may change). I am really looking forward to writing the city's article as I have a very specific architecture style in mind that I can't wait to draw.
Frontier
There are many frontiers that I can think of for both Valyria and Kathrir, but only one spans both.I've toyed with the idea of rings on the planet before, but now I know for certain they are there. These rings, sometimes called the Manastorm, surround the planet and block the two continents from even knowing that the other exists (with the most recent connection being ~800 years ago and kept secret).
On the other hand you have a lot of smaller frontiers, from the deep valleys separating cities, the drifting sands of the desert, and other unexplored corners of these vast worlds. I'm very excited to dive in and uncover all of them!
I'll probably start working on a new map for this which I can connect my articles to, as a map for both sides of the planet has been something I have been procrastinating on for a while.
Relics
This theme gets me really excited. From forgotten species to ruined castles to the hints of maybe, just maybe some of these relics are connected to each other? This topic is an idea goldmine!Relics are a big part of both of these worlds, along with the plots of the novels that take place on either side. One particularly plot-relevant ancient culture is that of the Old Fae. No one quite knows what happened to them, but the things they left behind are like a puzzle. A riddle to be solved. Many have tried, many have failed, but possibly the truth might be closer than they think.
Communication
This is a subject I've been playing with for a while. I would like both continents to have some kind of long distance communication, but how do I do that without interfering with my ideas for the plot? (Loose example: One of the protagonists gets lost, why can't they just call their friends for help?)There is also the whole deal with languages, and I still haven't quite figured those out. Does each species have their own language, or is it more regional? How many dialects are there? Which languages are common and which are obscure?
