Shwazen Faith

Type: Organized Nature Worship
Form: Reverence of Nature and Seasons
Supreme Deity: Shwazen, The Green Home
Origins: Rooted in the teachings and stories of the Old Shwazen Ancestors.   The Shwazen Faith, predominantly known as an organized religion, is deeply rooted in the spiritual connection between flora, fauna, and the divine essence of the world. A religion that champions nature, its followers see the world around them as the direct manifestation of their Goddess Shwazen's love and benevolence. Over the years, the faith has grown to hold substantial influence across Tumna, making it one of the most practiced religions. It has, in essence, become a beacon of peace and unity for many who seek solace in the embrace of the natural world.

Verdant Sanctums

Verdant Sanctums are the beating heart of Shwazen Faith and the Old Shwazen Ancestors. These are not built structures but rather preserved patches of nature – a testament to the reverence for the environment. Located deep within nature, these sanctums act as spiritual hubs for the followers. In a Verdant Sanctum, you're more likely to find wooden altars and stone circles than ornate structures. It's a space that blurs the lines between the natural and the spiritual. Followers visit these sanctums to meditate, perform rituals, and make offerings. Seeds, symbolic of growth and rebirth, are a common offering, as are foods which are later distributed to the needy. Over time, the sanctums also became places of learning and wisdom. Elders would often hold sessions on ancient teachings, ensuring the next generation stays rooted in their beliefs. The sanctums, in many ways, embody the essence of the faith – a harmonious coexistence with nature and a commitment to nurturing both the environment and the community.

Mythology & Lore

The Shwazen Faith is built upon tales of Shwazen's boundless love. It is believed that the first plants sprouted from her tears of joy, and each animal is a reflection of her myriad moods and whims. Legends say that when Tumna faced its darkest days, it was Shwazen's songs that ushered in spring and renewed hope.

Divine Origins

The Shwazen Faith traces its roots back to the Old Shwazen Ancestors, a group of ancient druids and mystics who first sensed the presence of Shwazen in the whisper of leaves and the murmur of brooks. Over time, their reverence for nature and the spirits within evolved into the organized religion it is today.

Ethics

Followers of the Shwazen Faith are encouraged to live ethically, meaning they strive to minimize harm to nature and all its inhabitants. This involves sustainable living, promoting harmony among all creatures, and standing against deforestation and other harmful practices.

Worship

Worship in the Shwazen Faith is a tranquil affair, often taking place in natural sanctuaries or groves. Rituals involve planting trees, singing hymns that mimic the sounds of nature, and meditative dances. Offerings of seeds and food are common, which are then distributed to the needy. A central pillar of the Shwazen worship is the establishment of the Grand Circle – a revered council of wise elders. These elders are entrusted with the responsibility of interpreting the sacred scriptures, ensuring their relevance in an ever-changing world, and guiding the vast community of believers. Their words are deeply respected, as they are seen as the closest interpreters of Goddess Shwazen's will.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Throughout Yelebur, the Shwazen Faith has often been at the forefront of political discussions, especially concerning land use and conservation. Over the centuries, they've negotiated for the preservation of sacred sites and have been key advisors to rulers on matters of agriculture and sustainability.
