Queen Sola I dies abed after a long battle with a wasting disease likely brought on by exposure to the alchemical compound contained within the first Retort Rifles.

The irony of Queen Sola I's death is not lost on historians, as it appears that a simple arcane ritual could have staved off her death by years, if not decades. Experiments completed on stolen Retort supplies confirmed this many decades later.
