King Enma and an Empty Hell

Great King Enma is in dire straits. Although he (or she, depending on whom you ask) still portrays a mighty and dignified ruler of Jigoku, the section of Gehenna closest to Japan, in truth the situation is far worse. Izanami-no-Mikoto's soul-hoarding tendencies have left Jigoku without sinners to punish. And, without that job to perform, the majority of its Oni have taken to the surface through Mount Ōe. Without even subjects to command the once-great King Enma has been forced to entreat the help of mortals whose reach on Earth and beyond exceeds his own. Mortals, for example, like Maxim and Matsumoto Ooawagaeri.
