A delicately-crafted porcelain mask worn by members of the Hannya Sūhai. While the Hannya mask is often taken to culturally represent wrath and vengeance, the Sūhai ascribes its meaning instead to the ancient Hannya-bō. As products of this master craftsman's hand, these masks are intended to represent his wisdom and insight to the truth. By wearing one's anger upon their face, their tradition states, it can be taken from the heart and, through this, true clarity achieved.
