From the Gift Horse's Mouth
Upon his victory at the Mōri Tournament, Knight Commander Maxim earned the honor of a gift from the eminent Mōri Motonari. Generously, the daimyō offered him a great Oni warhorse to serve as a battle steed. Yet Maxim's own request, for a duel with Motonari, went deflected and all but denied. In a fit of pique, the foreign knight decried her gift, refusing the horse, and stormed away from the arena. Yet is a gift horse, once given, truly so easy to discard...?
