Nobility

They're like angels. Angels with no sense of mercy, only cruelty.

Naming Traditions

Family names

Family names tend to follow certain trends among noble houses. While these may differ from region to region, there are some omnipresent traits as well as others which are almost never found. For example, some suffixes such as the highly common -iel or just -el are very prominent. Some examples of common sounding noble house names are:
  • Nimariel
  • Kaburne
  • Lennahel
There are also a number of rules and traditions that go into the combination of houses. However, in general, the more powerful house in the agreement, the one who "settled" keeps the house name while their spouse adopts their name. In cases in which there is no clear superior house, it is not uncommon for the house names to be combined with a hyphen. Heirs will either be given the name of the father or mother depending on their gender. If not, they keep the double house name until they marry, at which they may choose one name to carry forward, supposing they do not adopt the name of the house they are marrying into.
