Somber Sentinels

The Somber Sentinels are pairs of statues from a prehistoric Trian civilization on the great Western Continent. Although the statues appear to depict many different Trians in different poses and garb, three things seem to be consistent across all of them: they always appear in pairs, their expressions are always grim or gloomy, and a large deposit of sym-biomass is always found within 5 kilometers of their position.
These statues are a highly sought after by explorers as they are a seemingly sure signal that they are about to strike it rich, assuming they can determine that location of sym-biomass and return to civilization to stake their claim (or sell it to the highest bidder).
Within the last couple years, there have been reports of Somber Sentinels discovered without any sym-biomass nearby but, according to most of the popular news outlets, these have all been determined to be recent sculptures made to imitate those of the legitimate ancient Trian culture. No one has yet been found responsible for creating these modern replicas nor is their purpose known. Perhaps they are simply an elaborate prank on unwitting explorers.
