Seidiloph Island

Seidiloph was created by a series of volcanic eruptions during the first age. Approximately 50 miles across the island has forests, mountains and a few flatter areas which once proved fertile for crops. Several rivers and lakes provide fresh water though the rivers do drop to a mere trickle at times.   The centre of the island is dominated by the volcano that formed the island. The volcano seems dormant and there has been not evidence of eruptions since the island appeared.

In mnay way this island is an ideal sport for settling, and for a time it was a popular stopping point for trade ships. However, the port was suddenly destroyed in the later part of the second age, and a ban was placed on visiting the island.   Rumours abounded about the cause with tales of a treasure hoard and forbidden secrets. The lack of action over the loss of a port only served to heighten the rumours and several groups vowed to uncover the secrets for themselves. The authorities stopped what groups they could but some managed to find ships willing to carry them, though none of the treasure seekers returned.   This situation continued for over a century, with stories of the riches on the island growing with the telling, until a famous adventuring group The Blazing Falcons made an attempt. Despite an impressive array of skilled and well equipped mercenaries this expedition also failed, but for the first time someone made it out alive.   The stories turned from treasure to fear with wild tales of snake people turning into giant serpents, deformed giants, and an ever watchful presence that mocked all of the adventurers’ preparations. The stories were reinforced when ships started disappearing in the vicinity of the island and the nearest mainland port was destroyed in one night. Those who arrived to investigate the devastated port found a message carved into the ground , "DO NOT TRESPASS ON SEIDILOPH".
