Reshin
Located near Stlequ, Querito, and Sharshay, Reshin is believed to be the home planet of the Rhyhendra species. All knowledge of the Rhyhendra and their customs, history, and destruction comes from records and ruins found on this planet.
Geography
Reshin would originally have been classified as a desert planet, or perhaps a semi-desert. While the majority of its surface was flat and covered with sand dunes, there were several large mountain ranges, underground cave systems, and small forests. Few of these features exist now, but depictions of the forests can be found in Rhyhendra art. It is believed that the forests were cultivated and cared for by the Rhyhendra, and without their presence, the trees quickly disappeared.
The most recently touched areas of the planet are where the invaders who destroyed the Rhyhendra lived. The largest structure is the arena where Rhyhendra, humans, and various animals were forced to fight to the death, under which are dozens of cells for the prisoners who would fight there. Just outside of the destroyed and then rebuilt city are abandoned mines. The mines were closed to historians after the skeletons of hundreds of Rhyhendra children were discovered in a large chamber.
During Reshin's glory days, cities, towns, and villages could be found all over the planet. Now, these settlements have become the reason Reshin has been classified as ruins. The buildings, carved of various minerals, are the greatest testament to the intelligence and creativity of the Rhyhendra. No architecture anywhere else in the galaxy looks like Rhyhendra architecture. And yet, all of these structures are empty, faded, and forgotten. The largest buildings have crushed ceilings, nearly every house has cracked walls, and not a single person lives among the remnants of this ancient civilization.
History
It is unknown how long the Rhyhendra lived on Reshin for. Evidence suggests they were there even before the First Arrival, meaning the Rhyhendra as a species are as old as the Dito and had likely been living there since they were created, making Reshin their home planet. The Rhyhendra species lived on Reshin until the Second Arrival, when a fleet of ships carrying humans declared war on the peaceful empire and proceeded to almost completely wipe them out within a year.
The humans then enslaved the Rhyhendra survivors and forced them through unimaginable suffering, destroying their planet as they did so. Within a decade of their arrival, the humans had completely eradicated the other species.
records as well as exploring, it was decided that Reshin would be left alone. The horror of what occurred there could not be turned into a spectacle, and Reshin was declared off-limits to anyone and everyone.
As of 997 APC, diplomats from Jaque, Geranium, and Jere have requested that the planet be named Rhyhend, as historians believe that is what the Rhyhendra called it.
Along with the genocide, the humans also destroyed enormous amounts of Rhyhendra history and architecture. They razed the royal gardens and surrounding buildings to make their arena, used the royal palace as their own gathering hall, and forced Rhyhendra slaves to mine their beloved planet to shreds.
Many years after the Rhyhendra had been wiped out and Reshin had been practically abandoned by its invaders, explorers associated with the Polaris Alliance discovered the planet. After battles and peace treaties, ownership was transferred to Polaris, which sent historians and scientists to find out what they could about the Rhyhendra. All knowledge of the species comes from what they discovered. After twenty years of gathering evidence and
There is sand between her toes, wind blowing through her hair, dirt streaking her skin, and for the first time in six years, she feels free. If she runs far and fast enough, escapes into the wilderness of her home planet, maybe she can forget about the darkness she has suffered. Maybe she can forget about the arena taking the place of her peoples' elegant architecture.
Climate
As a former desert/semi-desert planet, Reshin is both hot and dry. The temperature usually ranges from 90 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and can drop to 40 degrees at night. There are few differences between Reshin's seasons. Rainfall is rare, occurring mostly during the months of May and September and lasting for only short bursts at a time. Despite the dry climate, it is believed the Rhyhendra kept the planet's flora flourishing.Natural Resources
Reshin has resources that can be found on many other planets. The mountain ranges are composed of sandstone, limestone, and other materials found on desert planets. Underground, there are massive veins of granite, marble, and crystalline minerals. Several of these materials were considered precious during the invasion, and it was these materials that Rhyhendra slaves were forced to mine for under the occupation. Further exploration of the planet and investigation into the rest of its resources have been banned.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild

Author's Notes
Apparently, my brain decided I needed to write about genocide this month. Yay! Honestly, this could have fit two of the location prompts, but I'm going with the place of origin. Enjoy this incredibly devastating article that I did not intend to be this long. And please read the Rhyhendra article, it's much better written and explains the history even more.
