The Continuum is a vast thing not known by the wisest of beings, even deities. It looms over all of creation, controlling the world and keeping the natural order.  

Time

The left arm of the Continuum is Time. Every second and every century are moved by it. Trying to halt or change its movements is akin to a fly trying to push away a planet.   Hundreds of thousands of timelines exist within the world, and despite their differences, they all coil tightly together into a rope pulled along slowly by Time.   To the Continuum, a manipulation of Time is as if the rope had a thread coming loose.   The effects of attempting to manipulate Time can wildly vary depending on the size of the manipulation. It may only harm the one trying to do it, or it may even bring about the destruction of the whole timeline.    

Space

The right arm of the Continuum is Space. Every inch and every mile are within its grasp. This arm is much more lenient than Time. Though, that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't strict. Because of its leniency, spacial warping and teleportation in general are possible.   Its domain is all. The Betwixt, and even outside are under its control. And one would be hard-pressed to go where they should not be. This is why a way outside of the dimensions and into the Betwixt has never been found.
