Julius Juulican
Spirit Knight Julius Juulican
Julius is Camlet's knight and is a member of The Golden Knights and The Sliver House Of Juulican. Julius was great friends with Grayhardt before Grayhardt was killed. Julius has been known to be considerate and cares for the well being of others. Though he can be less caring of people who are known to have criminal backgrounds.
Julius had met Camlet when he was a small time trader in Rimmen. Camlet had hired Julius to help him get through the dunes in Elsweyr to transport some wares. During the journey Camlet and Julius became fast friends. As a result many years later Julius swore to protect him when The Golden Knights had declared Camlet under their protection.
Julius is what is known as a Spirit Knight, there are very few of them around in the Empire, so The Golden Knights treasure Julius. Fairy-like creatures called Spirits are very selective of who they work for, they often only choose people by birth and stick with them until death, and they are very picky. There are 3 types of spirits, Lesser, Greater and Grand. Each category of spirit are also placed in different subgroups of support, defensive and offensive.
Lesser Spirits can be described as nameless; small; colorful; floating orbs. They are normally used by Spirit Knights because Lesser Spirits are more common and be used for quick attacks or other quick support uses, like spotting weak points in enemies or healing your wounds. Lesser Spirits are also very playful outside of combat, normally liking to play other Lessers or any other Spirit Users.
Greater Spirits are stronger versions of Lesser Spirits, some have names and size can vary from small as a fingertip to as large as a human head. Lesser Spirits can grow into a Greater Spirit but it can take a minimum of 500 years. Spirit Knights use Greater Spirits occasionally, but Greater Spirits can be difficult to work with, it is mainly Spirit Art Users, the wizard variant, that use them. Greater Spirits have more of a personality than Lesser Spirits, that can be shown with nonverbal movements.
Grand Spirits, are the rarest of any type of spirit. Their power can vary from spirit to spirit but most of them have a deep understanding of magic and can cast spells higher than level 9. What sets them even more apart from the other categories is that they can take shape of an animal, humanoid or even an object. Grand Spirits are the most picky of who they help and have to form contracts to make one another bond by soul. Currently there's only 23 Grand Spirits alive and 50 dead, most of them are already in contracts with different people, including the dead ones. When a Grand Spirit "dies" it goes into a deep sleep, only to wake up 100-10,000 years. The only true way to kill a Grand Spirit is with The Deciscid, a weapon that can transform into multiple different weapons at will. The Deciscid is actually a Grand Spirit itself and was only made to kill any spirits that had grown too powerful to continuing living. Grand Spirits' personalities can be described to be humanlike and often copy their master's traits.
