Properties
Material Characteristics
It is variably colored yellow to white, reddish, and sometimes colorless or blue. It can be massive to fibrous with some rare cases of fine crystals.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Absorbs moisture from the surrounding air, and must be stored in an airtight container. When heated dry it will fizzle and crack.
History & Usage
Everyday use
Carnallite is mostly used in fertilizers. It is an important source of soluble potassium salts, and is a minor source of magnesium.
