Brego

Denser bones and muscles allow the adults to reach roughly 11 feet in height (hoof to shoulders). Its head raising it to 16 feet in total. Originally from colder climates, they harbor traces of innate shadow magic to help each other to survive. Domestic breeding has tamed them for heavy transport over long distances.

Anatomy

Similar to most equines. Thick grey wool with brown and black patches overhead. Long nose and ears with no mane. Long legs with split hooves. Dense bones and strong muscles holds weight easily.

Ecology and Habitats

Prefers cool to colder climates. Open grasslands scattered with tall trees. Ideally evergreens.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Herbivore that prefers tree leaves, and evergreen needles. Alongside pinecones, nuts, tree bark, and berries.   Requires occasional sun baths for shadow magic.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The Brego naturally produces heat into its shadow via magical properties. It is used to keep offspring and others in the herd warm. As they instinctually take turns draping each other in their immense shade.
