Grave of the Grand Wizard
Peerless, Unrivaled, and Forever Our Strength
In the Draconian Village of Evity, a lone grave sat in a place by Lashmur Lake. Every Chief denied anything else be built there, as this grave was meant to stand alone, overlooking the waters and watching over the village. This is the grave of the first Grand Wizard, Kilprax Ildial.
The First Grand Wizard
Kilprax Ildial was the first man to unite the Draconian people into one nation, using his magical knowledge, immense power, and deadly charming charisma. For years, he led the Draconian nation and taught them all he could, but eventually he was targetted by the Elves in what became the Draco-Elvish War, which swept across the Draconian nation. In this war, the Elven mage known as Elnahil Shirno was tasked with stopping Kilprax. A difficult task that no one else could pull off. Many had tried, yet no one had been successful in posing a challenge to Kilprax. Even Shirno himself struggled before finally creating something Kilprax could not stop: a plague, which he infected himself with and then cornered Kilprax in Evity. He knew he would be destroyed by the Grand Wizard in a one-on-one fight, so he made sure that he would still be fighting long after he was gone. The plague was effective, the only way to kill Ildial, and he passed away as the final act of the war. Many point to Kilprax as an evil man, as he generally looked down on non-Draconians, thinking only his people could be great mages. Yet his supposed final words were of praise, showing what he truly cared about most of all was magic and how it could progress."A spell even I don't know? Maybe you Elves... and other races are mages after all. To make an incurable disease? I wish I had 1000 more years left, to study all this. Magic... really is incredible!"
Burial
Kilprax was buried in his place of origin, the Forbidden Village Evity, which was also where he died. As a matter of fact, his grave sits in the exact place that he was found: sitting out looking over Lashmur Lake. There were battles between the villages over where he should be buried. Few wanted him in their villages, or rather they knew Evity would have the stronger claim, so many fought for him to be buried in the city of Zephys which he built or the village of Yirthum that he founded. However, Evity won out and gained the body, despite opposition from those that did not want it near necromancers. Still, it would take a hell of a necromancer to raise the most powerful man to ever live. The Grave
The Grave of the Grand Wizard is not marked with a name. There was no need for one. Instead, it bears a stone sculpture in the shape of Kilprax's infamous Wizard hat, which sits atop the headstone, otherwise not unusual in its shape aside from some cracks and wear from time. On it is no name, instead the name is replaced with a title: Grand Wizard. While there have been many following Kilprax, there are many who still consider him to be the only true Grand Wizard, a title meant for no one else. Below that title is a quote, meant to describe how Evity feels of Kilprax. The epitaph they use to describe him:Peerless, Unrivaled, and Forever Our Strength
Desecration
Eventually, there came a man who did the impossible and raised Kilprax from his grave. At the end of the Grand Wizard Struggle, in the conflict known as the Chief Crisis, the Chief of Evity was named Onkesh Tazwunak. Onkesh wished to destroy the title and position altogether, and therefore felt it fitting to raise Kilprax to end the cycle and take out what he hoped was the final person to hold the title, 64th Grand Wizard Salasar Feaphed. It took multiple mages pooling their energy together to raise Kilprax, yet he disobeyed them, fighting Salasar only as he pleased to test him, only referring to him as "64" up until the final moment of the fight, when he raised two fingers to his head and said:“You know, Salasar, you’re a fine Grand Wizard.”Kilprax shot his brains out with a blast of flames so that he could not be resurrected again, wishing this to be his end as he trusted a new future to Salasar and his people. He was buried, once more, in the Grave of the Grand Wizard, and a law was put in place to never disturb it again.
Tourist Attraction
This location is revered by all Draconians, who generally respect Kilprax as a figure that brought them to prominence and power. Non-Draconians, however, are not as respectful. Elves, particularly, attempt to desecrate the grave often, while other tourists often don't understand the culture around respecting the grave. Humans from the Kingdom of Man on their Grand Tour often skip the grave, not understanding its significance. As Gleg Stiknuz once said:"It's just a grave. What is the fuss? We all die."
