Treatise on Svayar, and the Races of Shadow

Within the lands of Torre and beyond, one is sure to meet many interesting and diverse folk along their travels. However, one could travel the world thrice over, and yet not meet a single fellow from a race of shadow. For these folk dwell in dark, hard to reach places, and tend to keep to themselves. Indeed, even their history and origins are equally as murky, and shrouded in mystery. For this reason, I have spent many a year in study of these people, and have traversed continents and planes of existence alike to bring you a new light on our misunderstood friends of the night.

     Svayar have perhaps the most tragic history of the races of shadow, for they did not choose to become what they are, and they are the only ones to be left without an ancestral home. In ages past, when the Venari fought each other for dominance, the trickster god, Nitri,
