What happened in Ecapé

A group of drow devastated the village of Ecapé. Ecapé was a humble human town that boasted in the wide variety of skilled peoples. Although a small town they had the best private institutions for the study of arts, music, magic, sleight of hand, and healing. The heroes of the village were taken, and their apprentices are all that remain. The apprentices, devout worshipers of the gods… The apprentices beseeched their gods to help them take vengeance against the Drow.   The gods, feeling compassion for their devout followers agreed to assist. Knowing that Gruumsh has a particular hatred for the Drow and especially for their god Lolth, made an arrangement with the chaotic evil god of war. In exchange for fealty to Gruumsh, and a complete surrender of their village to the Orcs, Gruumsh would provide them with instruction and guidance in the ways of the Barbarian. He would teach them how to combine their existing skills with brute strength, rage and pack tactics. All the gods agreed to this arrangement. The humans would take their vengeance upon the Drow. The skills they had already acquired via study would be combined with practical experience from Gruumsh allowing them a greater possibility of seeking their vengeance.   The gods appeared to the humans in what remained of their small temples in the village of Ecapé. They explained the plan and guided them to a secret shrine to Gruumsh deep within the Orc Woods. They were told that Gruumsh assured them they would be taught the ferocity of Orcs.
