The City of Dorthore Laws
Drow society is built on fear and domination. There is no trust or cooperation between the houses. There is only fear, obedience and opportunity. Getting caught while being opportunistic however will result in a justifiable death. The matron Mother of each house demands strict obedience from all members of the household. Male Drow have no real value. A select few are chosen to breed but are quickly discarded when the female becomes bored.
Slavery is commonplace. Drow families rarely become slaves to another. However, the Caste system and being in lower house is little different from slavery.
Drow cities are not entirely made up of Drow. The free population breakdown is typically 98% Drow with a small assortment of Humans, Mindflayers, Svirfnelin, Orcs and Myconids who are permitted to trade within the city. But Most Svirfneblin, Humans and Orcs are slaves.
A few laws to be aware of:
- Murder of even the smallest of spiders will result in the stripping of any rank and freedom.
- Any Drow proved to be following any god other than Lolth will be put to death. Non-drow who mention in a positive fashion any other god will be flogged and banned from Dorthore permanently.
- Falsely claiming by any means to be a higher rank or higher house is punishable by death.
- Any non-drow caught trying to impersonate a drow may be killed immediately without need for a trial. Any creature who proves they captured or killed a spy are highly rewarded.
