Spell Ruling: Simulacrum

Simulacrums can’t cast simulacrum, or any spell that duplicates its effects. For normal game play, you cannot have more than 1 Simulacrum.

If you, or a simulacrum you have created, cast wish, both you and your simulacrum suffer the stress associated with casting the spell—including the risk of being forever unable to cast wish again. The inability to cast wish extends to any simulacrum you create in the future. See Spell Ruling: Wish for more details.

Simulacrums are constructs and while they don't require rest (won't become exhausted if they don't rest) they're capable of rest to remove any condition that requires a rest for removal.

Simulacrums have the same stats and conditions of its creator at the moment the simulacrum is completed (except for any buffs or abilities granted via magical items.) If the creator has no spell slots left when the Simulacrum is created, the Simulacrum has no spell slots when it's created etc.

Simulacrums share attunement slots with their creators. See Magical Item: Attunement for more details.

The Simulacrum cannot regain any spell slot, sorcery point, or any other feature that the PC has that is consumable. Once the feature is used it cannot be regained. The Simulacrum cannot gain in HP.  Note: The only way for a Simulacrum to heal (regain HP) is using the method described in the spell itself.

Even though a Simulacrum is a construct, it does not gain any benefits of a construct that its creator did not have other than the following:
  • It cannot become exhausted if it does not rest
  • It does not need food to survive.
  • It is not subject to any spell that only applies to humanoids.
  • While no spell can increase its HP, it can have temporary HP.
