Unless the effect is obvious or the spell says otherwise, Spellcasters will not know if the target fails or succeeds a saving throw for a spell.
Failing a DEX save on Fireball is obvious
Failing a WIS save on Charm Person is NOT obvious. The person may be familiar with the spell and play along.
