Shield & Limb

Location: Soldiers Rest
A discreet forge and workshop, situated near military supply depots, where the Shieldbearers commission prosthetic limbs for their wounded warriors. The exterior is simple, but inside, the shop is filled with reinforced limbs, arcane stabilizers, and heavy-duty replacements specifically designed for combat veterans.   Overview of the Shop & Access Restrictions
Owner: Master Artificer Iskarion Rhon
  • A gruff, highly skilled dwarven artificer, once a frontline Shieldbearer himself.
  • Lost his own arm decades ago, which he replaced with a highly experimental prosthetic powered by Ethereum.
  • Believes only warriors who understand hardship deserve his work.
Access Restrictions: Only sells to Shieldbearers.
Players may gain access by:
  • Joining the Shieldbearers.
  • Completing a quest (retrieving rare materials for a prototype).
  • Paying a "creative" fee (either a steep price in gold or a promise of future service).
  Basic Prosthetics (No Special Abilities)
These prosthetics function identically to a normal limb. They are crafted for wounded veterans and have no combat enhancements.
  • Standard Prosthetic Limb Replaces a missing arm or leg, allowing the user to function as normal.
  • Cosmetic Prosthesis A highly detailed prosthetic meant for appearance rather than function. No mechanical effect.
  Advanced Combat Prosthetics (Enhanced Capabilities)
  • Titanium Grip Prosthetic Hand Grants Advantage on Grapple checks.
  • Spring-Loaded Leg Grants +10 ft. movement speed and reduces fall damage by half.
  • Shieldbearer Custom Arm Once per long rest, the user can absorb a blow, reducing damage by 1d10 + Con mod.
  • Integrated Weapon Limb Allows one-handed melee weapons to be fused into the arm. Attacks made with the weapon cannot be disarmed.
  Arcane-Infused Prosthetics (Magically Augmented)
Requires an attunement slot.
  • Etherium Gauntlet Allows the user to cast Mage Hand at will.
  • Stormforged Arm Once per long rest, can deliver an electric shock (1d8 Lightning damage) on a melee hit.
  • Spectral Limb The limb can become intangible once per long rest, allowing the user to pass it through solid objects for 10 seconds.
  • Elemental Fist User can imbue the limb with fire, frost, or necrotic energy for 1 minute, dealing +1d6 damage of the chosen type on unarmed strikes.
Experimental Shieldbearer Prosthetics (Rare & Custom-Commissioned)
These prosthetics are not available for sale—only given to Shieldbearers who have proven themselves.
  • The Aegis Arm Once per long rest, can deploy an integrated energy shield, giving the user +2 AC for 1 minute.
  • Vanguard's Leg Allows the user to perform an enhanced leap, doubling jump distance. If used in combat, grants Advantage on the first melee attack made after landing.
  • Eldritch Circuit Arm Once per long rest, can store a spell up to 2nd level, allowing the user to release it later as a reaction.
  Special Upgrades & Repairs
  • Prosthetics must be maintained—Shield & Limb offers repair services. Artificers are also able to repair basic prostheses and with training advanced prostheses. Arcane & Experimental prostheses must be repaired in the workshop at Shield & Limb by Iskarion
  • Upgrades available, but only to trusted customers.
  • Shieldbearer prosthetics cannot be enchanted outside the workshop—only Iskarion has the knowledge to modify them.
