We order several (dinosaur meat dishes). Eventually, Miguel shows up.

We wave him down and talk to him. Miguel says he believes Obin was smuggling something into the city for the Iron Crows.

They seem to believe he took the secret safe Obin had stashed away in the caravan. He says he's probably going to go back to the wagon crash site in a day or two. Bethany says we can stop by the Bow's End on the way (Tavern on the Academy).

The tavern seems to be busy with lots of people: Academy humans, beast people, genasi, goliaths, gnomes, and halflings. As we sit down, we order a pitcher of wine.

Finding at the Factory

October 12, 2025, 1/18/753 ATC

While waiting for a longboat, we meet Bethany again with several of her friends:

• Irmc Bielak: human, shy friend

• Adrian Krol: gnome, studies ley lines and mage extraction

• David Gzarny: human, studies ley lines and mage extraction

• Jeremy Dosh: human, apprentice like us, no major

The small group joined us, and we split checking two factories. We went back to the same factory we were at before, and the team of goliaths led by Makin Honetweaver Thenalig.

Mickey looked with Ley Sense, and the leyline disturbance has passed.

This factory only builds the machines that build and extract leyline energy. Bethany used detect magic and found a small coin with a crow on one side and a key on the other. It seems likely Noldreg Greathsvid dropped it on his way out. The coin, made of electrum, is likely a key to a leyline portal.

We catch up with the Aquendy crew and told them we didn't find anything (we're still trying to limit the leyline info). Mickey reveals he also found a library card "Principles of Leyline" by Ordam Flinch and another about leyline construction and portals. Our plan is to go to the library and see if there's a way to see who may have checked out these books.

We arrive at the library and go to one of the librarians, a gearforged named Clearness. Mickey talks with Clearness who asks to take the cards for research. Mickey picks up with both hands and asks if we should give up the card. We agree to but quickly copy the card into our notes, including the arcane symbols that are likely what allows notes to fold into origami birds and fly on their own.

Clearness handed us a card, which took the form of a squirrel which led us to the book Leyline Mechanics.
