Halfling Wagons
Halfling wagons first came to Toresta with the original halfing settlers shortly after the founding of the city in the 30s ATC. The reputation of halfling master wainwrights is such that many travelers swear they would not hazard any road except in a halfling made wagon.
Halfling wagons are Huge objects. 10 feet wide by 20 feet long (not counting the extra 10 feet for the driver's box and draughts.
Power Generation
Wagons are pulled by two draught animals. A draught (pronounced draft) is typically a horse, oxen or dinosaur. Wagons have the walking speed of its slowest draught. For the Draydriver horse breed typically used this is 60 feet, and wagons pulled by them normally cover 24 miles over an 8 hour day.
Additional & auxiliary systems
Halfling wagons are magical and include extra dimension space which allows the inside of the wagon to be larger than the outside. They used the shard powered Portable Room device to allow the space to be permanent. The shard is a D size and must be replaced every six months to maintain the space.
Like other magical extradimensional spaces meant for regular occupation, (Tiny Hut, Magnificent Mansion) Portable Holes, Handy Haversacks and Bags of Holding can occupy the space without becoming an an Astral Plane nuclear weapon, because what archmage doesn't want to take his favorite bag of holding into his magnificent mansion?
Rule of Egress and Rule of Orientation must be maintained. As does the Rule of Five Faces.
The rule or Egress and Orientation means that if a door exists on the outside it will exist on the inside. It three doors exist, one next to the other, the middle door outside will be the middle door inside.
The Rule of Five Faces means that five of the six faces of the extradimensional cube must be intact. This allows a single wall to be a door, while maintaining the space. The Rule of Five Faces means that if five sides of the extradimensional space is contained by the wagon wall then the space is stable. This allows a single wall to be a door, dropdown platform or whatever and the space is maintained. If two walls no longer contain the space the extra dimensional space will collapse.
The Rule of Preservation of Existence means that if the cube is destroyed (such as by having a second wall breached) the contents of the space are deposited in the nearest unoccupied space.
The size of the extradimensional space is limited by the amount of ley energy available to power the spell.
Objects inside the extra dimensional space do not count against the weight of the wagon, allowing tons of cargo to be transported using standard Draydrive Draughts.
For purposes of combat draughts are not creatures as long as they are hitched to the wagon. They cannot be targeted by spells, they don't make saving throws or have their own hit points.
