Vikavben
Vikavben is the island where the unfortunate remains of Osthavens Chapel of Thallo wash up when their funerary rafts fail to sink. The rafts catch in the outgoing tides and drift southwards down the coast until they wash ashore on Vikavben.
This island has had no living inhabitants in living memory and access to the island is restricted and highly discouraged. This is in part for the safety of the individuals who may attempt to access the rocky shoreline, but also out of respect to the deceased washed ashore. Those that have been to the island report sickly mists, strange wildlife and moving beings that may or may not be undead.
Geography
Vikavben is a small island off the western coast of Tordronnen. It is the northernmost of three islands in the area and south of the large island of Nilskya. It is approximately 2 square miles, however exploration is limited. It is a largely flat and rocky island with no significant hills or other inclines. The coast on all sides is rocky and treacherous to approach my ship due to the many unseen rocks just beneath the surface.
Climate
The climate of Vikavben is much the same as coastal Tordronnen, however there are reports of heavy sea mists which will conceal the island for weeks at a time.
Fauna & Flora
There is said to be an exceptionally high number and variety of crab species, many of which are said to grow to terrifyingly large sizes. Some of these make their way over to the mainland and although they would seem quite the catch to a fisherman, the consumption of these giant crabs is frowned upon. This is primarily due to the awareness that the crabs size is in no smal part due to its diet of the deceased on Vikavben.
There are multiple species of shrubs growing in widswept clumps across the island, however there is but very little in the way of arboreal plant life and trees struggle to flourish in the damp rocky environment.
Natural Resources
While there may be some useful resources on the isle, the main thing that persons seeking to access Vikavben would be looking to gather are related to the practice of necromancy.
History
There is little known of the history of Vikavben as no one has dared to visit the isle long enough to seek any signs of a pre Time of Tome civilisation. It was not long after the Osthaven funerary practices began that Vikavben gained it's name due the macabre outcome of the lost dead on it's shores.
Tourism
There is no tourism to Vikavben and visiting this death laden isle is strongly discouraged.
