Temple of the Triarchy
The Temple of the Triarchy is one of two buildings in Osthaven that pre-date the city as it currently stands. It is believed that the site of Osthaven was chosen by nomadic settlers, made homeless by the calamity of what came before the Time of the Tome, in large part due to the presence of the temple already on the island. Over time the settlement grew into the bustling merchant city it is today.
The Temple of the Triarchy stands on the northwesterly point of the island, grand and imposing in its architecture like nothing else in the city. It has a long central hall with a trio of curved transepts, each one dedicated to the aspect gods of each member of the Triarchy, as well as a central three sided altar for the Triarchy themselves.
Purpose / Function
This temple is the main site of worship for the gods of the Tordronnen pantheon including the Triarchy themselves and each of their four aspect deities.
Alterations
There have been buildings added near to the temple site which houses the clerics of the various gods who maintain and manage the temple and the rites that take place there. There is also accommodation provided for those who chose to travel to the site in holy pilgrimage.
Architecture
The architecture has some distinct gothic influences, however some of the carvings and stone used continues to puzzle observers in how it was built. Much of the stone brickwork used on the building itself is made using carved blocks of such a size that current technology would not be able to transport and work with it.
History
The prescence of the temple on the island of Osthaven predates current recorded history. It has been a site of worship for as long as recorded history currently goes back to.
Tourism
Many people visiting the city of Osthaven will take the time to visit the Temple of the Triarchy, whether for religious observance or simply to see the legendary structure.
