Nilskya's Lost Tower

Similarly to the other towers around Tordronnen, the original purpose of the Nilskya Tower is unknown as its construction pre-dates the Time of the Tome. The Lost Tower offers a valuable and unique insight into the construction of the other towers, and the reason for the unfinished nature of the tower remains as elusive as its original purpose.

There are speculations about whether these towers were intended to be fortresses, watchtowers or have another purpose entirely. Unfortunately, as much as the tower on Nilskya does provide insights into the construction, it gives no clues as to why it was being built. The reasons must have been significant as the stone blocks that are used in its construction are extremely large and not of a stone that is found in Tordronnen, something that would've been far too challenging if not for significant purpose.

There have been reports of mysterious accidents occurring to those staying around and studying the ruined site. This is in part due to the strange effect on the island which causes things to inexplicably disappear from one location and appear in another.

One reported case notes a researcher disappearing from their party, and after 2 days of being missing suddenly reappearing and behaving in a way that their party found deeply concerning. They were speaking of giant serpents and things hiding in the shadows hunting them. In a fit of panic they rushed to the Tower ruins, climbing as high as they could manage before falling to their death. Whether they jumped, or were pushed by some unseen entity remains unclear.

There have been no attempts to add to or change the current structure of the Tower and, as with much of the uninhabited parts of Nilskya, is said to be haunted.

The architecture is unlike any found in buildings constructed during th Time of th Tome, and as with other towers in Tordronnen it appears to be made of unusually large blocks of black veined granite-like stone not native to Tordronnen itself. Each block of stone is approximately 2m x 4m x 3m of this solid hard material.

Very few choose to visit Nilskya's Lost Tower for tourism and entertainment. This is mostly due to the stories of hauntings and many of the strange goings on across the island. Those choosing to visit the site are typically scholars and researchers seeking to understand its construction and the mysteries associated with it.
