Nemesia, Shield of the Stars
The Aspect of Stars. Maiden of the Shield. The Foretelling Star.
Nemesia holds her position as a one of the fierce figures of Kalani's Aspects, loyal to her in all matters. Whilst her appearance is imposing with the constant presence of her great shield, Nemesia's first domain was that of the Stars. It was she who designed the constellations, imbuing them with their own small sentience and life, before setting them into motion across the skies. In her earliest incarnations she is in fact portrayed without her shield and it is thought that the extension of her dominion into divination and protection came later, during the War of the Gods. Tales tell of a time of war where she could be seen braving the battlefield with her great shield guarding those around her, her bright star magic blazing across the chaos.
In modernity, Nemesia is seen as a striking warrior Goddess, whose fierceness is matched only by her compassion. She is often the patron god of those who selflessly protect others and people undertaking a task of guarding the innocent will often have her blessing. Despite arcana as a whole belonging to Tyshoan, Nemesia's creation of the stars is what gives her power over divination. She would use the stars to predict oncoming dangers, so as to better protect those under her care - a preparedness she favours in her followers too.
Divine Domains
Nemesia holds domain over the Stars, Divintation, Protection. She is called upon for insight into future events, in hopes of protection against harm that may be on the horizon. Nemesia is also deidcated to the protection of the innocent and, like Kalani, seeking justice to those who have been harmed.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
The most common symbol of Nemesia is that of a star, double layered with four points to each layer. Most commonly this is depicted as being upon a shield and in its simplest form, the shape of an angular heater shield with a star upon it is used.
Nemesia's favoured animal is the wolf. She repsects their loyalty in the protection of their pack, and the howls of a wolves on cold winter nights are said to be calling out to Nemesia among the stars. Sightings of a lone white wolf is said to be a sign of her attention when out in the wilds.
Colours also associated with Nemesia are shades of blue both light and dark, and the colour gold. These mimicing both the bold colouration of her armour and the light of the stars across the deep blue sky.
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Nemesia is a tall well built woman with a powerful physique, her face has strong angular features framing golden eyes. Her skin is golden tanned with a glowing yellow-gold roan effect at her temples, hairline and across her shoulders. Her ears are double pointed and can be seen clearly as her hair is often braided well back from her face. The hair in question is a light blonde and parts not braided appeared to be unruly tight curls. The glowing roan area can cause it to appear that the roots of her hair too are alight.
Depictions of Nemesia always show her dressed in half-plate armour in midnight blue and gold. She also always has a fur cloak with the outer layer the grey markings of a wolf, and the underside black with the glowing glimmer akin to the stars in the night sky.
Specialized Equipment
Since the Wars of the Gods Nemesia is always seen with her shield which she is able to use both as a protection and an offensive weapon. Aside from her shield carries no other specific weapon, instead she has been seen wielding a variety of weapons all fashioned from starlight and emanating radiant magic.
Social
Family Ties
There was a known bloodline of Nemesia within the royal family of Rhouna, however this line ended some decades ago. It is believed that the line is still living somewhere out in the world, and that there are Sects and Orders both protecting the line and those seeking it's end.
