Corrupted Ferai

“...and so these downfallen corrupt beings will be hunted to the ends of existence. Ceaselessly pursued in efforts to limit their corruptive effect on the world around them.”

- Celestials, Aberrations and the Corrupted, by Leopold Der Vitner

A Corrupted Ferai can be instantly recognizable by the twisted exaggeration of their original Ferai features. Their horns are longer and more intimidating, great fangs will form and elongated claws protrude from their hands. They also take on an elemental or otherworldly aura around them, this power will stem from whatever would be most destructive to whichever place they were tasked with guarding. A corrupted Ferai of the forest will emit viscous flames to destroy the land, a Ferai atop a mountain will shatter the ground beneath them with each footstep causing landslides to the people or places below.

When a Ferai becomes corrupted they turn into a feral and more animalistic version of themselves, becoming twisted and bitter in their personality. They are filled with rage and hatred towards all beings, forgetting their true cause and reason for being. Once the corruption of a Ferai becomes known to the Wraiths , it is then hunted down and contained before too much destruction and chaos can be wrought.

Simply killing a corrupted Ferai is not enough and in fact of greater danger. If a corrupt Ferai is killed there is the risk that they will return to the Pool of Radiance, contaminating it with their corruptive pollution. To avoid this the Wraiths will seal the corrupt Ferai in a pocket demiplane where its corruption is unable to infect any other realms again.
