Kobold

The Kobold are a little-known race except for they seem to only associate with the Dragonborns and have a deep hatred for the Deep Gnomes. They came into origin much like the Dragonborn. The Chromatic Dragons during the Civil War found that there were less Dragonborn fighting for them then the Metallic Dragons. So they sought to create a race that was smarter and faster than the normal Dragonborn. However, the Dragonborns that were already fighting for the Chromatic Dragons found out about this new race and feared the new race would overtake them as the Chromatic Dragons favorite. So they sabotaged the creation and thus came the Kobold. Enraged at the disaster at creating a new race they left the Kobold deep in the Mountains where they were being created and left a vanguard of the Dragonborns as guardians. The Kobold however was not quite the disaster the Chromatics expected and quickly came up with a cruel way to slaughter the Vanguard and worked out a treaty with the Metallic Dragons and were crucial to the defeat of the Chromatic Dragons.
