Maghast Bloodtooth
Maghast was born to the Bloodtooth Warband and had no time to waste with simple drills and serving in the spearline. By her fourteenth birthday, she had already served in six special infiltration actions and had marked a dozen notches in her spear in Blood Duels fought against older soldiers afraid of her prowess. She became the youngest Spearleader in the Warband at seventeen and had risen to Longfang by twenty. Maghast's meteoric rise was a threat to Kzalgash Bloodtooth, her predecessor, and he made sure to put her in the most dangerous positions as the warband fought battles and subjugated other lesser warbands. Maghast's unnatural instincts and abilities brought her alive and bloodied through even the most brutal crush of melee and earned her the love and respect of her soldiers.
At twenty-six, Maghast threw the head of the former Warleader of the subjugated Sharpspear warband at Kzalgash's feet and demanded her right to Blood Duel. Kzalgash refused and even ordered his guard to kill her, but they would not obey. He fled and Maghast struck him down with a thrown spear, leaving his cowardly body to rot or be eaten by scavengers.
As Warleader, Maghast is a fearsome and strict ruler. She brooks no arguments and no dissention in her ranks and her punishments are brutal and direct. Her soldiers have learned that the price for disrespect or disobedience is being permanently maimed and set to work in a non-combat role--for in the warband, everyone works.
