    The Arkûn-Yavawan Plague
    Plague / Epidemic

While the origins of the The Arkûn-Yavawan Plague remains uncontroversial, it is widely believed by scholars that diseases long-separated by the Arkûn Gates combined to produce a new, highly deadly plague in the years following the joyous opening of Arkûn. More controversial theories include ancient curses, dwarven conspiracies, and the like.   Regardless of its origin, the plague spread like wildfire throughout the Arkûn holdings and the Yavawan Maw, laying waste the region's great and ancient kingdoms. It was only the desperate efforts of the Hippocratic League, a continental alliance of expert physicians, healers, and priests that the plague was brought to an end.
