Personal history
Like most of the gods, Kal'a, known to the elves as Nelayaser, the Betrayer Leviathan, has origins shrouded in mystery. All agree, however, on a few key facts. Kal'a was one of the Fourteen Leviathans of the Zodiac. Despite this, during the War at the Dawn of Time, she betrayed the other Leviathans to KOL, rising as his Hand and participating in the process of sealing them below the Abyss. Since that day, it is agreed, she has been gathering followers for a prophesied great Harrowing of Hell, Ragnarok, in which she will lead her chosen followers to the deepest layer of the Abyss and relieve KOL. What is less agreed on is her motives, for the Leopardess Eel is known to be inscrutable. Kol'Vashani believe that she supports KOL and seeks to finish the great Unfinished Task out of a sense of loyalty, duty, and vengeance, having been severely injured when trying to hold the gate. Kolites tend to be more skeptical, with Northern Rite Kolites going so far as to suggest that she abandoned KOL on purpose, and is really gathering her largely orcish followers for an assault on heaven, instead.
Gender Identity
To the extent that Leviathans or deities have gender, Kal'a has identified herself as female, with Sur'al Kol'Vashan believing her to be Kol's consort, naming her the Consort of Heaven.
