Traveler's Rest
Traveler's Rest is the name given to a collection of lean-tos, shacks, campsites, etc. that dot Tjiramor. The first Rests were established by travelers who needed a place to cook a meal and rest their bodies when they were between welcoming settlements.
All Rests are marked by a purple double slash brand that appears on a tree or rock near the area.
Some Rests contain a small cabin, complete with trail rations that are restocked by an unknown benefactor. Others are nothing more than a crude firepit and rough shelter from the elements. Most fall somewhere in between.
Among travellers, it is custom to share a Rest with others. Questions aren't asked about where somewhere is going to or coming from; privacy is respected. Information is shared about conditions and hazards nearby. Most travelers will share their supplies with others at a Rest.
Rests tend to be at least a week apart so moving on from an occupied Rest to find an unoccupied Rest doesn't happen.
Some Rests contain journals wrapped in a tarp for travelers to record their names (or nom de plumes) and information on what's near by such as a friendly tavernkeep who will offer a discount or free food and drink in exchange for chores or a crotchety widower farmer who will fire arrows at anyone daring to sleep in his barn.
