Known only by their job title in Zangsayoi Elven, Kilhiilje is a janitor at the Academy of True-Eyed Magic in Waal Paisheim. They hold the distinction of being the only human on staff who claims no elven descent, but are better known as an enabler of student pranks and tricks.

History

Particularly cagey about their personal life, little is known about Kilhiilje. Prior to working at the Academy, they were employed as a cleaner at a local town hall in northern Waal Paisheim, taking great pride in their work. After moving to the city's east, apparently due to family matters, they sought a job at the Academy, beginning work in 411 AC. Though not holding a faculty position, they quickly gained a reputation among the student body and professors for their good nature, particularly their support for students during difficult study periods. This support has ranged from being a patient listener during emotional turmoil to coaching those practicing their spells outside of class, with the latter occurring so consistently that some students consider talking to Kilhiilje to be a vital step before beginning practice.

Despite being a human, Kilhiilje only speaks the elf-originating Zangsayoi language. This has regularly caused confusion for academy students who come from abroad, who assume the janitor must speak Vostan. Though exceptionally fluent, keen-eared listeners note that Kilhiilje speaks with an unplaceable accent that is especially strong when they're stressed. Notably, their pronunciation of fricatives such as 's' and 'sh' will sound like the plosive 't'. Some suggest this means Kilhiilje speaks Yulemtan, a smaller language lacking fricatives, but this is also untrue.
