Grace Strongbones

Grace Strongbones (she/her) is a character played by Roxy (she/her) in the side quest The Foe of Many Faces Returns. She is a lotusden Halfling, oath of ancients Paladin 7, alchemist Artificer 3, and an Outlander.  

Description

Grace is a towering 2'11" with brunette head and brown eyes. She wears a yellow cape over her armor. Her armor has an etching of a tree on its chest. The eldest of 7 children, Grace got hit hard with Oldest Child Syndrome. She is very protective of anyone she feels responsible for, and hopefully Roxy can pay attention enough to pull off her natural tendency to be a leader. She is an organized perfectionist, and is always afraid that she isn't "good" enough.  

Backstory

In 99 AL, Grace Strongbones was born to a long line of warrior farmers who all become adventurers when they turn 21. Grace's first venture as an adventurer was nearly delayed when her brother, Cyprus, died in a tragic accident at the age of 8. Grace blamed herself and wanted to stay with her family for a couple years to help out before leaving, but her parents insisted she go anyway. During the next few decades, Grace's life alternated between long stretches of farm life and quick sprints as an adventurer whenever she felt the call to adventure. While her siblings all married and had children, she remained free and single; the awesome aunt who always came home with epic gifts for her nephews and nieces. She built up quite a reputation, both within her family and in Kauvet, fighting off villainy and keeping peace in the land.   During her years on the farm, the minor god Pelor would often visit her disguised as a wrinkly old person whenever they were bored. Despite how hospitable she was to them every time, Pelor was no help when a blight wiped out her crop in both 148 and 149 AL. To make matters worse, Grace had to help cover the elaborate funeral expenses when her brother, Spruce, died on a quest in the first month of 149 AL. Naturally, when the king summoned her party's aid when the dragon Mrargullotrorg stole the crown jewels, Grace was more than happy to use this opportunity to replenish her funds. Unfortunately, this quest was a massive failure, and in his rage King Amias revoked the party's rights to any reward and blamed them for the resulting mess. Stripped of her status and wealth, Grace returned to her farm and tried to salvage what she could. Not long after, a popular children's book called "The Foe of Many Faces" is published, painting her as a figure firmly in favor of the king's anti-changeling agenda. Until now, Grace had managed to remain neutral in this front, firmly holding justice above all else. Now the world believed Grace wouldn't hesitate to crush any Changeling, and Grace is still learning how to navigate this new world.
